COPE Health Solutions is seeking a Junior QA Engineer with hands-on experience in web application testing to join our product engineering team. Our team builds and maintains healthcare applications using .NET on the backend and React on the frontend, and we need someone who can help ensure the quality and reliability of our products.
You'll work closely with engineers, product owners, and our QA engineer to test critical workflows, write automated tests, and support our compliance practices. Our team is distributed and works in English, so clear written and verbal communication is essential.

Position Description
Design, write, and execute manual and automated tests for web applications built in .NET and React.
Collaborate with developers, product owners, and our QA engineer to ensure clarity on requirements and acceptance criteria.
Write and maintain automated tests within our existing UI (Playwright) and API test suites, with guidance.
Test healthcare workflows for accuracy and data integrity, following our HIPAA/HiTrust compliance practices (our products handle PHI).
Perform regression and integration testing as part of our CI/CD pipeline (Azure DevOps).
Create and maintain traceable test documentation (test plans, test cases, defect reports) and contribute to knowledge sharing across the team.
Track, report, and manage bugs in Jira.
Participate in Agile ceremonies: daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
Support UAT efforts and help troubleshoot production issues when they arise.
Required Qualifications
2+ years of experience in software QA, with a focus on web application testing.
Solid understanding of QA methodologies, testing types, and best practices.
Experience testing web applications (front-end and API layers); exposure to React or other JavaScript frameworks.
Hands-on exposure to test automation tools for UI or API testing.
Basic SQL skills and ability to validate data across backend systems.
Experience tracking and managing defects in Jira or similar tools.
Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git).
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a willingness to learn.
Excellent English (written and verbal) — you'll communicate daily and proactively with an English-speaking, distributed team.
Bonus Points
Hands-on experience building or maintaining automation with Playwright (or similar tools like Cypress or Selenium).
Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude) to accelerate test case generation, automation scripting, or defect analysis.
Experience testing mobile applications.
Experience in regulated environments (preferably healthcare) and familiarity with HIPAA or HiTrust.
ISTQB or other QA certification.
