Set up and operate advanced multi-axis CNC machinery to produce close-tolerance precision medical device parts. Responsibilities include verifying new set-ups, performing in-process inspections, and providing technical training to junior employees.
Requires 4-6 years of experience with advanced CNC equipment such as Swiss machines and live-tooling lathes. Candidates must be proficient in reading G and M codes and capable of producing zero-defect parts at maximum rates.
As a Principal Machinist, you will have the opportunity to utilize mills, lathes, mill-turns, and Swiss machines (among others) to produce close-tolerance parts for our medical products. A major area of responsibility for this role will be the set-up and operation of a variety of production machinery to produce close-tolerance precision medical device parts, with an emphasis on verifying and validating new set-ups for production and first piece runs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up advanced CNC machinery such as 4 and 5 axis mills, Swiss machines, Lathes with live-tooling, etc. and operate advanced multi-axis CNC equipment, tools, and accessories for the fabrication and cutting of materials to process component parts.
Maintain close tolerance dimensions while producing parts at the rates established for a given operation
Perform verification/validation of new set-up programs for new product or pre-production parts. Perform in-process and first piece inspection
Complete offset adjustments to multi-axis equipment to ensure product conforms to strict tolerance
Provides training and technical training to less experienced employees.
