Job Description:
In this role, you will performa variety of highly skilled duties to maintain and/or repair the property of the City using a variety of machines, tools, and equipment.
Examples of Duties:
Maintains and repairs City vehicles and diesel equipment including garbage trucks, sweepers, scows, dump trucks, vans, pick-up trucks, sedans, boats, motorcycles, and/or and various construction equipment.
Diagnoses and repairs the following vehicles components; air conditioning, engine performance air/hydraulic systems, driveline systems, emission systems, etc.
Performs minor fabrication and welding as necessary.
Assists other technicians.
Picks up or delivers vehicles and equipment when necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent and four years of related experience with Technical School Training preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Valid state issued driver’s license.
Ability to obtain Valid Commercial Driver’s Permit – Class B within 3 months of hire., and Valid Commercial Driver's License - Class B within 1 year of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Dealership or heavy truck shop experience.
Other Necessary Requirements:
In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
