Full job description
We’re Capital on Tap 👋 💳 Capital on Tap started because small businesses were underserved. Big banks were slow, their products weren't fit for purpose, and small business owners often couldn't access what they needed. We set out to fix that.
Today we're a financial platform - not just a credit card company. We offer a best-in-class business credit card, SME-focused spend management platform, a savings product that hit £1 billion in funds within its first year, and a growing suite of tools and financial products that make running a small business easier.
1,000+ employees, £20bn in annual card spend, 200,000+ customers, 17,000+ Trustpilot reviews averaging 4.7 stars, and we're profitable. We’ve done a pretty good job so far, but we’re just getting started!
🏢 This is a Hybrid role, working from our London (Moorgate) Offices 3 days per week.
Commercial Team at Capital on Tap
You'll join the Commercial Team, reporting to our Commercial Manager. We work on the problems that move the numbers - how we bring customers in, how we get them using more products, and how we make better commercial decisions with better analysis. That covers three areas:
Growth - initiatives across our acquisition funnel, from new channels like Voice AI to cross-sell journeys, plus the analytics that tell us where to look next.
Commercial - the analysis behind big business decisions, from unit economics and CAC through to pricing, incentives and customer value.
Product - the analytics that helps us prioritise our roadmap, including making sure what we ship can actually be tested, measured and iterated on.
What You'll Be Doing
Own projects end to end - frame the problem, run the analysis, form a view, then deliver the change with the teams involved.
Design, build and test acquisition and cross-sell journeys across Credit, Savings and new channels, then iterate on what the results tell you.
Answer the commercial questions behind key decisions, from CAC and unit economics to pricing, incentives and customer value.
Help product teams prioritise their roadmap, and make sure what ships is set up to be experimented on and measured properly.
Shape our UK and US collections journeys, and find the levers that move recoveries rather than just rearranging the comms.
Build the datasets, dashboards and monitoring you need yourself, when the reporting you want doesn't exist yet.
Turn all of it into a clear recommendation senior stakeholders can act on, then see it through.
We're Looking For
At least a year's experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, law, or a high-growth start-up or scale-up.
A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative subject.
Structured problem solving - you can break a problem into its parts and tackle the ones that matter first.
Commercial judgement - you form your own hypotheses from first principles or from the data, rather than waiting to be told where to look.
Analytical ability - you can define how to answer a business question and then go and do it yourself, in SQL, Google Sheets, Hex or a dashboard.
Interpersonal skills - you adapt to different stakeholders across teams and can influence people without managing them.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with SQL, dbt, Hex or Omni, or an automation platform like Customer.io, n8n or Zapier.
A background in Marketing, Credit, or Financial Services.
Diversity & Inclusion 🌈 We welcome, consider and encourage applications from anyone who shares our commitment to inclusivity. Join us in creating a space where authenticity thrives, and everyone can do their best work.
