We are industry leaders, transportation specialists dedicated to ensuring that transportation investments can deliver the best possible results. By providing innovative policy and planning solutions, objective analyses and technology applications, we help our clients anticipate and meet future transportation needs while improving the performance of existing infrastructure and operations. Above all, we are committed to our clients’ success in making transportation better for future generations.

The Planning group provides fully integrated planning and management as well as project development services for our clients. We apply our national knowledge and leadership while leveraging the strength of regional expertise to bring experience from across the country to provide an intimate understanding of our clients’ needs.

We are looking for a Senior Planner to join our team in Texas. They both serve as a company-wide resource and lead projects or tasks in practice areas including safety; corridor planning; long-range planning; asset, performance, and risk management; and resilience and sustainability. Their expertise will inform research and influence clients’ policy, process, and strategy, including investment decisions.

The Senior Planner in Texas develops collaborative relationships with current and prospective public agency clients across Texas, including the Texas Department of Transportation; Metropolitan Planning Organizations, municipalities, and other public entities such as tolling agencies or port authorities. Using those relationships, they identify future policy and programming opportunities. They also build connections with our peer firms and lead teaming negotiations with other consulting firms as part of proactive and reactive marketing efforts.

The Senior Planner trains, manages, and mentors junior staff and motivates multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants to deliver work products on-time and within budget.

  • A strong professional network in the transportation industry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Planning, Civil Engineering, Public Policy, Transportation Economics or a related area
  • Demonstrated project experience—current or prior—with the Texas Department of Transportation and Metropolitan Planning Organizations, including direct engagement in policy, planning, programming, or statewide transportation initiatives
  • Located in (or willing to relocate to) Texas
  • 5+ years of experience in public sector consulting and professional services
