We are currently looking for an experienced technical specialist responsible for installing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing complex commercial systems, including HVAC units, refrigeration systems, and commercial food service equipment. This role requires advanced troubleshooting skills, strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, and the ability to work independently in field service environments.
The Senior Technician also acts as a technical leader, supporting junior technicians and ensuring high-quality service delivery across all assigned jobs.
Primary Responsibilities
Technical Diagnostics & Repairs
Perform advanced troubleshooting on HVAC, refrigeration, and commercial equipment systems
Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control system failures using diagnostic tools and schematics
Repair compressors, condensers, evaporators, motors, fans, relays, and control boards
Perform refrigerant handling tasks including recovery, evacuation, leak testing, and system recharging
Restore equipment such as walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, ovens, and other commercial appliances

Field Service Operations
Respond to scheduled maintenance and emergency service calls
Conduct on-site inspections, system testing, and performance evaluations
Provide accurate repair recommendations to customers and management
Ensure timely completion of service calls while maintaining quality standards
Operate and maintain company service vehicles and tools
Preventive Maintenance
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment systems
Clean, adjust, and calibrate systems to ensure optimal performance
Identify potential system failures and recommend corrective actions before breakdowns occur
Leadership & Training
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technicians and apprentices
Assist in training new employees on systems, safety, and repair procedures
Support team members during complex service calls or troubleshooting situations
Documentation & Reporting
Complete detailed service reports, work orders, and maintenance logs
Document parts used, labor hours, and diagnostic findings accurately
Maintain compliance records for warranties, service contracts, and inspections
Communicate job status updates to dispatch or management
Safety & Compliance
Follow OSHA safety guidelines and company safety procedures
Comply with EPA Section 608 regulations for refrigerant handling
Ensure safe operation of electrical, mechanical, and pressurized systems
Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all job sites
Required Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of experience in HVAC, refrigeration, or commercial equipment repair
Strong understanding of electrical systems and refrigeration cycles
Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
EPA Section 608 Certification (or ability to obtain)
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Strong problem-solving and independent working ability
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with commercial kitchen and food service equipment
Background in low-temperature refrigeration systems
Strong customer communication and service skills
Experience training or supervising junior technicians
Additional trade certifications in HVAC or electrical systems
Work Environment
Field-based position with travel to customer sites
Work performed in kitchens, rooftops, mechanical rooms, and industrial facilities
Exposure to varying temperatures and physical working conditions
