Job Summary:
The Barista is a key operational and service leader responsible for delivering an elevated café experience for all tenants and guests. This role goes beyond beverage preparation--serving as the primary point of contact for vendor relationships, inventory management, and product innovation. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong organizational skills, a hospitality mindset, and the ability to lead by example in both service and execution.
This role is integral to upholding the service standards of the property while ensuring the café is fully stocked, efficient, and aligned with tenant preferences.

About the role:
The part-time barista for the Sky Lounge will be responsible for supporting daily operations of the café and providing high-quality beverages, food service, and a welcoming experience for building tenants and their guests. This role requires a high level of independence, attention to detail, and the ability to manage the lounge during scheduled shifts. Joining a small team of bartenders and amenity attendants, they will represent the face of the café program and have opportunities for creativity and tenant connection.
Responsibilities:
- Beverage and food preparation
o Preparing a full range of specialty coffee and tea beverages with consistency and quality
o Assembling and serving pre-packaged food items
o Following all food safety and handling procedures
- Customer service and tenant connection
o Providing friendly, efficient service to building tenants and their guests
o Maintaining a professional, approachable demeanor
o Addressing question, requests, and concerns
- Inventory management and stock intake
o Restocking inventory throughout the day
o Monitoring inventory levels and communicating discrepancies
o Receiving, organizing, and logging deliveries of food and products
o Updating inventory values on Square POS
o Navigating Square POS
- Café operations
o Opening the café independently, following established procedures
o Managing point-of-sale transactions accurately
o Maintaining smooth café operations
o Maintaining clear communication with manager and team regarding daily operations
- Cleanliness and organization
o Maintaining a clean and orderly working environment in compliance with healthy and safety standards
o Performing routine cleaning tasks throughout shift
o Organizing lounge furniture and ensuring a presentable atmosphere
Qualifications:
- 2 or more years of experience as a barista
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift boxes, light furniture, and kegs
- Up to date Food Handler’s License
- TABC preferred but not required (?)
- Availability for Monday and Wednesday mornings from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
