Rixos Hotels is seeking an exceptional and visionary Executive Chef to join the Executive Leadership Team at Rixos Phu Quoc, a landmark luxury all-inclusive resort in Vietnam.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Executive Chef will play a pivotal role in shaping the resort’s culinary identity, leading the development and execution of a world-class dining experience across 25 restaurants, bars, and lounges. This executive position will oversee the entire culinary operation, from pre-opening planning and concept development to operational excellence, ensuring alignment with Rixos brand standards, guest expectations, and ownership vision.

The successful candidate will be a passionate culinary leader with extensive luxury hospitality experience, strong commercial acumen, and a proven track record of creating exceptional food experiences within large-scale resorts, ultra all-inclusive environments, and international pre-opening projects.

Key Responsibilities

Culinary Vision & Concept Development

• Lead the overall culinary strategy and vision for Rixos Phu Quoc, creating a distinctive food and beverage offering that reflects the resort’s “All-Inclusive, All-Exclusive” philosophy.
• Develop and implement innovative culinary concepts across multiple restaurants, bars, lounges, and specialty dining venues.
• Partner with ownership, corporate teams, and operational leaders to ensure the culinary offering supports the resort’s positioning and commercial objectives.
• Drive menu development, culinary storytelling, and guest experience innovation while maintaining the highest standards of quality and creativity.

Pre-Opening Planning & Operational Readiness

• Lead the culinary pre-opening strategy, including kitchen design input, equipment planning, operational workflows, and opening timelines.
• Build and structure the culinary organisation, ensuring the right talent, systems, and processes are in place ahead of opening.
• Develop culinary SOPs, HACCP standards, food safety procedures, and operational guidelines.
• Oversee kitchen readiness, including menu testing, supplier alignment, product sourcing, and soft-opening preparations.
• Ensure a seamless transition from pre-opening into full resort operations.

Culinary Operations & Quality Excellence

• Oversee all culinary operations across the resort, ensuring consistent delivery of exceptional food quality, presentation, and service standards.
• Establish and maintain international culinary standards aligned with Rixos brand expectations.
• Drive continuous improvement through regular quality reviews, guest feedback analysis, and culinary innovation.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and local regulatory requirements.
• Champion creativity, authenticity, and excellence across all dining experiences.

Food Cost Management & Commercial Performance

• Develop and manage culinary budgets, food cost targets, and operational forecasts.
• Drive profitability through effective menu engineering, purchasing strategies, portion control, and cost optimisation.
• Partner with Finance and F&B leadership to monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure effective inventory management, supplier relationships, and waste reduction initiatives.
• Balance commercial performance with exceptional guest experiences.

Leadership & Talent Development

• Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing culinary team across multiple outlets and cuisines.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and develop culinary talent to create a strong succession pipeline.
• Establish a culture of creativity, collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence.
• Promote knowledge sharing, innovation, and continuous learning within the culinary team.
• Foster strong collaboration between Culinary, F&B, Purchasing, and other resort departments.

Brand Partnership & Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with Rixos corporate culinary teams to ensure brand alignment and continuous improvement.
• Build strong relationships with ownership, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
• Represent the culinary vision of Rixos Phu Quoc internally and externally.
• Support marketing and PR initiatives through culinary storytelling, events, and signature experiences.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• Proven experience as an Executive Chef within an international luxury hotel, resort, or large-scale hospitality environment.
• Strong background in pre-opening luxury resorts, ideally within Asia or international markets.
• Experience managing complex culinary operations across multiple restaurants, concepts, and cuisines.
• Previous experience in ultra all-inclusive, lifestyle, or luxury resort environments would be highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of culinary financial management, including food cost, menu engineering, and operational efficiencies.
• Exceptional creativity, leadership, and team-building capabilities.
• Ability to balance culinary innovation with commercial performance.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with ownership, corporate teams, and operational leaders.
