The position involves inspecting residential and nonresidential structures and vacant lots to ensure compliance with City Housing Codes. Responsibilities include conducting health inspections, preparing violation reports, and attending court hearings for non-compliance.
Candidates must have a high school diploma, a valid PA driver's license, and at least two years of construction experience. An ICC Property Maintenance Inspector Certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for inspecting all existing residential, nonresidential structures and vacant lots within the City to ensure compliance to City-Housing Codes. This position will entail frequent contact with other employees in the Division, as well as daily contact with housing dwellers. There is limited contact with City employees outside the Division. Reports to the Property Maintenance Supervisor.
