The Patient Services Assistant supports nursing staff by transporting patients and equipment, distributing meals, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. They are responsible for sanitizing patient rooms and replenishing clinical supplies to ensure high-quality patient care.
The ideal candidate is a compassionate and reliable individual capable of working in a team environment while following directions independently. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work flexible AM and PM shift rosters are required.
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and proactive Patient Services Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this important support role, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care by providing assistance to nursing and clinical staff while ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a healthcare setting, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and is passionate about supporting patient wellbeing.
This Casual positions offers flexibility with work hours and days. Availability to work AM and PM shift rosters will be required for all casual staff.
Assist with the safe transport of patients and equipment throughout the hospital/facility.
Support patient meal services, including meal distribution, collection of trays, and assisting patients with meals when required.
Prepare and maintain patient rooms, including stripping, sanitising, and remaking beds following discharge.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and infection control within ward and patient care areas.
Remove waste and soiled linen in accordance with health and safety procedures.
Clean and maintain clinical equipment, ward facilities, kitchens, and common areas.
Monitor and replenish stock, supplies, oxygen cylinders, and equipment as required.
Work collaboratively with nursing and clinical teams to support the delivery of high-quality patient care.
You are a compassionate and reliable individual who is committed to providing exceptional support to patients and healthcare teams. You take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment and understand the important role this plays in patient wellbeing and recovery.
You thrive in a team environment, communicate effectively with a diverse range of people, and can confidently follow directions while working independently when required. With strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a flexible approach, you are willing to assist wherever needed to ensure the smooth operation of the ward and delivery of quality patient care.
Salary: $39.83 to $41.26 per hour (inclusive of casual loading), plus 12% superannuation
As a casual employee, you can salary package a percentage of your earnings each pay period on a range of benefits such as mortgage, rent, meal entertainment, holiday accommodation or other everyday living expenses
