Provide overnight supervision and safety for residents in a homelessness shelter, including crisis intervention and facility monitoring. Responsible for conducting intake screenings, enforcing house rules, and preparing breakfast for residents.
Requires a high school diploma and at least one year of experience in direct service, preferably in a residential shelter. Must be able to lift 50 pounds, pass a background check, and possess strong conflict resolution skills.
The Resident Assistant (RA) will provide essential overnight coverage and supervision. This position is responsible for the welfare, safety and comfort, as well as daily support to the residents. The RA will provide crisis intervention to callers seeking shelter, advice or referrals. The RA is responsible for maintaining a safe and welcoming environment during overnight hours, monitoring residents, providing support as needed, and ensuring that breakfast is prepared and served each morning.
