The technologist performs and assists with complex technical procedures in the pediatric catheterization lab, including heart catheterizations and electrophysiology studies. They are responsible for the safe application of ionizing radiation while maintaining high technical competency for patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited school of radiologic technology and hold current ARRT registration. At least two years of modality-specific experience and current BLS certification are required, with ACLS and PALS preferred.
Hours Per Week: 40
Sign on Bonus: $10,000 (payments over 2 years)
Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: Day Shift 7a-3:30p M-F (40 hours a week) plus on call
Minimum Training and Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiological Sciences, RT or an accredited school for Cardiovascular Technology/CVT
· ARRT, CVIS, CRT or CVT
· Current BLS certification (or completed within the first 30 days), PALS and ACLS (may be completed in first 6 months)
· Cath lab or Cardiovascular specialty certification preferred
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology. Experience: At least two years of modality specific experience. Must have successfully complete the Imaging Specialist Clinical Ladder Program and be endorsed as a level III. Must complete the revalidation process annually with work area leadership to remain as a level II. Registration/Certification: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred. Skill set: Fully competent in advanced modality skill sets and flexible to rotate.
