The Medical Laboratory Assistant is responsible for receiving, processing, and managing laboratory specimens while ensuring accurate patient identification and data entry. They also perform quality control, maintain laboratory equipment, and manage inventory in accordance with safety and biohazard protocols.
Candidates must hold an Ontario secondary school diploma and be a graduate of an accredited medical laboratory assistant program. Current registration with OSMT, CSMLS, or CMLTO is required, along with the ability to travel between hospital sites.
