Position Description:
The Strategic Account Coordinator is a support-focused role designed to assist Outside Sales Representatives (OSRs) in the management and execution of customer account activities within assigned strategic accounts. This position does not carry a sales quota, engage in prospecting, or own revenue targets. Instead, the role serves as a key operational partner, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient handling of customer requests, order coordination, and internal alignment across teams.
This role is responsible for supporting the customer’s experience by managing day-to-day account activities, coordinating cross-functional resources, and ensuring follow-through on customer needs. The Strategic Account Coordinator acts as a central point of contact for order status, quoting coordination, and issue resolution, working closely with Sales, Operations, Product, and Customer Support teams to deliver a seamless experience.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Account Support & OSR Partnership
Partner closely with Outside Sales Representatives to support account activities and execution of customer requests.
Assist with maintaining account information, activity tracking, and documentation within CRM systems.
Support preparation for customer interactions, including gathering order details, status updates, and internal insights.
Coordinate follow-up actions based on OSR direction and customer needs.
Customer Communication & Order Support
Serve as a primary contact for customers regarding order status, shipping updates, and general inquiries.
Respond to customer requests via phone and email with timely, accurate, and professional communication.
Ensure clear communication of order updates, requirements, and next steps.
Escalate and coordinate resolution of customer issues as needed.
Quote & RFQ Coordination
Support the quoting process by coordinating RFQs with internal teams.
Ensure accurate and timely submission of quote requests and follow-ups.
Maintain visibility into quote status and communicate updates to customers and OSRs.
Assist with gathering required technical or commercial information to support quoting activities.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate with Product, Operations, Customer Service, and other internal teams to support order fulfillment and issue resolution.
Act as a liaison to ensure alignment between customer expectations and internal execution.
Help coordinate actions across departments to move orders and requests forward efficiently.
Order & Issue Resolution
Monitor open orders and proactively identify delays or risks.
Follow up internally to ensure timely resolution of order-related issues.
Support resolution of discrepancies, including order changes, shipping issues, or documentation needs.
Escalate critical issues appropriately and track progress through resolution.
Administrative & Process Support
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, order activity, and account updates.
Ensure CRM and internal systems are kept up to date with current information.
Support reporting needs related to account activity, order status, and customer communications.
Assist with documentation and process adherence to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Provide updates on account performance, pipeline health, risks, and growth opportunities.
Support forecast accuracy and revenue reporting for the Industrial BU.
Maintain detailed account records and CRM activity tracking.
Key Responsibilities
Partner closely with outside sales to build and maintain strategic account plans within the CRM, driving revenue growth and strengthening the sales pipeline.
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers on key sales activities, including quotes and service follow-ups, ensuring all responses meet established SLAs.
Proactively schedule sales visits and follow-up activities for outside sales to maintain sales momentum, documenting actions and next steps in the CRM.
Develop deeper relationships within targeted strategic accounts by expanding connections across multiple contacts and functional areas within the customer’s organization.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong interpersonal skills, business acumen, and a customer-centric focus with urgency to achieve strategic objectives.
Minimum 5 years of strategic or technical sales experience, including account development, extensive phone contact, and a track record of profitable growth.
Expertise in technical sales, subsystems, integrated solutions, product lines, market trends, and industry landscape.
Excellent professional communication skills, both written and spoken, with proper grammar, tone, and messaging.
Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, and general computer applications; CRM experience preferred.
Experience in fast-paced sales environments, managing multiple accounts and complex opportunities.
Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based sales model aligned with outside/field sales.
Strategic thinker with strong execution, follow-through, and relationship-management skills.
Capable of sitting, standing, walking regularly, and occasionally lifting 0–40 pounds.
Abilities
5+ years of experience in strategic account management, sales, or sales support roles.
Experience supporting industrial customers or industrial-focused product portfolios preferred.
Background in electronic components, industrial connectivity, cabling, enclosures, or infrastructure solutions strongly preferred.
Proven experience partnering closely with outside/field sales teams.
Proficient in CRM systems (MS Dynamics preferred) and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
Ability to work effectively in remote or hybrid environments.
Work Environment:
The work environment is typically considered to be an office environment located on-site, within an Infinite location, during regular or extended business hours. The work environment may include the employee’s residence (Work from Home) or a hybrid combination of home and on-site facility.
