This is a Lead Transportation Coordinator position in the LCD Transportation department.
How Will You Make an Impact?
Join a team where your work directly supports life-changing science. Every shipment you coordinate helps deliver the products researchers, healthcare providers, and manufacturers rely on to develop breakthrough therapies, improve patient outcomes, and make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

Your expertise in transportation coordination and logistics will help ensure customers receive the products they need—when they need them.
This is more than a transportation role—it's an opportunity to lead by example, solve complex logistical challenges, and influence operational excellence. As a trusted partner to the Transportation Manager, you'll help drive continuous improvement initiatives, strengthen carrier performance, optimize transportation processes, and support a high-performing team dedicated to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership, and making a measurable impact every day, we'd love to have you on our team.
A Day in the Life
Coordinate domestic and international outbound shipments by partnering with warehouse teams, carriers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely, compliant deliveries.
Monitor daily transportation activities, proactively resolving shipment delays, documentation issues, service interruptions, and customer shipment escalations.
Coordinate fleet operations for tanker and railcar shipments by tracking shipment progress, communicating with carriers, and maximizing equipment utilization.
Utilize transportation and business systems, including AS400, Salesforce, Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), Smartsheet, and other transportation management tools to manage daily operations.
Provide operational leadership by supporting team members, coordinating daily transportation activities, sharing best practices, and driving execution across the department.
Monitor carrier performance, communicate shipment status to stakeholders, and identify opportunities to improve transportation efficiency and service.
Support key performance indicators (KPIs), including on-time delivery, shipping accuracy, customer satisfaction, productivity, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Champion Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives that enhance operational performance, strengthen compliance, reduce costs, and improve the customer experience.
Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while exercising sound judgment, managing competing priorities, and maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience
One to two years of experience in transportation, logistics, warehouse operations, or supply chain.
Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
Experience with hazardous materials transportation preferred.
Knowledge of import/export processes, logistics operations, and export compliance regulations preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make timely decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to collaborate, positively influence others, and support cross-functional teams.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
Ability to analyze operational metrics and leverage data to drive continuous improvement.
Working knowledge of transportation regulations, carrier operations, and export compliance requirements preferred.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
HazMat/Dangerous Goods Certification preferred.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
Primarily a desk-based position focused on transportation planning, shipment coordination, documentation management, and frequent communication with internal and external partners.
Regularly required to lift up to 40 pounds. May occasionally be required to lift 45 pounds or more with assistance and/or appropriate equipment.
