Role Definition

Assesses the supplier quality and ensures that all the products are free from defects and are in compliance with manufacturing specifications and legal standards. Supports the Large Engine capacity uplift through supplier development, risk management, and launch readiness activities.

Responsibilities

• Supplier Evaluations and Certification: Knowledge of Engine Components supplier evaluations and certification; ability to identify the methods, tools and documentation for evaluating, selecting and certifying worldclass supply base for our business.
• Supplier Development & Process Establishment: Developing and fostering strong relationships with suppliers that will yield optimized and repeatable delivered quality. Also, will support suppliers in improving their performance through process enhancements, implementing process controls, and developing quality assurance plans to ensure sourced parts from suppliers meet all the quality requirements for the numerous sourcing projects.
• Production Part Approval Process (PPAP): Knowledge of Production Part Approval Processes (PPAP) elements, submissions, and objectives; ability to determine whether a supplier can manufacture products that meet the quality requirements and standards of their customers consistently.
• Coordination & Collaboration: Coordinate with engineering personnel on matters regarding Concurrent Product and Process Development (CPPD), New Product Introduction (NPI), New Source Introduction (NSI), Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) teams; prove design to production, engineering changes, deviations, supplier designs, specification approvals, meeting cost reduction goals, and participates in the Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) process with suppliers manufacturing processes.
• Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
• Supports and participates in BIQ, LEAN initiatives with facilities, category teams, and suppliers. The incumbent will collaborate with Buyers to improve supplier cost, quality, and throughput.

• Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.

• Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.

• Supplier Evaluations and Certification: Knowledge of supplier evaluations and certification; ability to identify the methods, tools and documentation for evaluating, selecting and certifying vendors, suppliers and partners.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of job-related experience

Desired Qualifications:

• Technical and manufacturing experience: Practical experience with casting, welding, assembly, or related manufacturing processes in an OEM or Tier 1/Tier 2 supplier environment.
• Supplier development and industrialization: Ability to support supplier development, manufacturing process reviews, and component industrialization activities, with partial ownership of assigned components or suppliers.
• Quality planning and approval processes: Working knowledge of APQP/PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA, and quality processes for casting, welding or assembly components.
• Communication and collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to address sensitive issues, develop others, build consensus, and work effectively with cross-functional and global teams.
• English capability: Fluent communication in English.
• Continuous improvement: Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or related problem-solving experience is preferred but not required.

Additional Information:

• Travel time is expected to be 30-50% of working time.

This position requires working onsite five days a week.
