Responsibilities
The Opportunity
The MCC Transportation Director is accountable for building the strategies and tactics to enable the Transportation Control Tower Operations and Administrative delivery service for PMF, Telematics service for LATAM, PLCI, Ecomm & PFC Operations and lead the global gTMS team. Leads a team of 157 FTE’s. This role will engage in regular consultation with the business unit teams and other MCC leaders on the delivery of business objectives.
Your Impact
As MCC Logistics, Distribution, and Transportation Director your scope would consist of:
- Builds operational excellence in TCT PMF Operation: Transportation Control Tower Operations with scope of 12 of the 16 activities in the TCT Cycle (Mandala), being mainly accountable for Shipment planning, programming, carrier tendering, monitoring, Track & Trace (for customer loads only, and interplants upon request), delivery management, audit freight payment, spend analysis, data & analytics, visualization, benefits tracking with a team of 84 FTE’s.
- Driving strategies and playbook governance in PLCI, Ecomm, PFC: Planning and execution of carrier mgmt., account mgmt./finance, inbound ops, track and trace operations for PLCI, Ecomm, and PFC for North America both Foods and Beverages with a team of 54 FTE’s.
- Enhance Telematics services for LATAM: Managing the Geotab platform for all the data, reporting & analytics for own fleet across the 12 countries in LATAM, Brazil and Mexico being the biggest fleet, driving services to provide insights for the Fleet & EHS teams on driver safety and prevention, add new services of forklift monitoring and fleet camera implementations with a team of 12 FTE’s.
- Drives gTMS projects enabling productivity: Implementations, continuous improvement, knowledge management, vendor management, transportation modelling in the Blue Yonder TMS solution with a team of 7 FTE’s (5 team members based in India).
- Stakeholder Management: Ensure business targets are aligned with service delivery strategies and tactics, value realization is achieved.
- Lead a High-Performing Team: Manage and develop a team of managers, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for growth to ensure effective execution of strategic supply initiatives and alignment with overall business goals.
Qualifications
Who Are We Looking For?
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, or applicable degree required. Master’s degree a plus.
- 10-15 years Operations, transportation, Import & export experience preferred.
- English Fluency both written and verbal required, Spanish Fluency strongly preferred.
- People leadership/management experience required.
- Working knowledge of transportation and order life-cycle in a dynamic Supply Chain.
- Ability to positively influence teams outside of direct responsibility and across multiple business units.
- Working knowledge of SAP, TMS - BY solutions.
- Ability to influence leadership and operate in a matrix environment.
- Capable of leading a remote workgroup and being managed by a remote manager.
- Utilize technical/functional knowledge that creates opportunities and solves business problems.
- Proficiency using PC-based applications such as Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and alternate meeting technology.
- Strong strategic ability.
- Ability to identify business issues and generate solutions.
- Self-starter with attention to detail.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
