The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general upkeep, repairs, and functionality of the student accommodation property. They must ensure communal areas are clean, perform health and safety checks, and assist with reactive maintenance tasks.
The ideal candidate should have experience in maintenance, security, or facilities management with a proactive approach to problem-solving. While a relevant trade qualification is considered an asset, it is not strictly required for the role.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping the space in a great condition inside and out. This will involve maintaining the general upkeep of the residence including all communal areas, performing repairs, maintenance and minor redecoration as and when needed.
Here’s what you’ll do;
Along with the day to day activities within your role, you will also be required to manage your health and safety responsibilities as set out in Section 7 of the Health and Safety at Work Etc. Act 1974, where it states that you have a duty to take care of yourself and those around you, by your acts or omissions and to cooperate with your employer on health and safety matters.
This list in by no means exhaustive but in short, your main responsibility is to take pride in the look and feel of the property – ensuring the standard is great for our residents.
You’ll need to have some experience ideally within maintenance, security or facilities with a proactive approach to solving problems. A relevant trade would give you the edge but is certainly not essential.
