The Patient Transporter is responsible for safely lifting, turning, and moving patients to appropriate transport equipment throughout the hospital. Additional duties include cleaning equipment, changing lines, and communicating transport delays to dispatch.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and maintain a current CPR certification. The role requires strong interpersonal skills and the physical ability to walk over 10,000 steps per shift.
When patients need to travel throughout the hospital, the Patient Transporter will help lift, turn, and move them to the proper transport equipment.
You will ensure transport equipment is safe for the patients and report any defects quickly. When not transporting patients, you will clean the equipment, change lines as needed and communicate delays or concerns regarding transport to dispatch.
