The Interventional Radiology Technician supports IV surgical procedures by preparing the angiographic suite, calculating contrast materials, and assembling necessary supplies. They also provide direct support by communicating with patients and their families to address concerns regarding the procedure.
Candidates must have completed formal radiologic technology training at an AMA-approved or HLC-accredited school and hold an ARRT registration. Additional registry in cardiovascular or interventional radiology is preferred.
As an Interventional Radiology Technician (IR Tech), you will support a variety of IV surgical procedures.
In this role, you will set up the angiographic suite for each IV procedure including preparing contrast and IV solutions, calculating fluids and contrast materials and assembling supplies.
You will also communicate with the patient about the procedure and address any concerns from them or their family.
