Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Analytical/Assessment Skills
Promotes and screens potentially eligible WIC families via telephone, in-person or internet based inquiries.
Accurately assesses and documents income determination, I.D., proof of residency and proof of pregnancy for certification appointments
Ensures compliance with documentation requirements including obtaining necessary signatures and records retention requirements as specified in WIC policy
Schedules appointments following WIC policies and procedures for procession standards, re-certification guidelines and benefit issuance
Uses WIC reports to maintain WIC caseload to perform functions of making appointment reminder phone calls and texts and rescheduling missed appointments
Policy Development/Program Planning Skills
Responsible for knowing WIC policies and procedures located on WICShare
Follows Health Department and Project Specific policies locates on the Health Drive
Attends WIC and Health Department staff meetings
Completes necessary annual trainings including but not limited to CPR, WIC Confidentiality, ROSIE Security, Mandated Reporter, Blood borne Pathogens
Assist with other health department duties and activities as assigned
Participates in professional development activities (i.e. meetings, seminars, conferences, etc.) to improve and remain abreast of professional & legislative advancements & innovations.

Promotes adjunctive WIC program including but not limited to Farmers Market, Fit Families, and WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counseling

Assists in maintaining WIC office purchasing and invoicing process including ordering office and medical supplies and rendering invoices upon receiving items.

Assist in scheduling meetings, conferences, trainings and travel for WIC staff
Ability to type appropriately and correctly
Ability to perform various clerical tasks; i.e. answer phone, take applications, schedule appointments, reminder phone calls, text messages, and process transfers
Ability to operate various modern office equipment and applicable software programs including but not limited to computers, multi-line phone system, faxes, iPads, cell phones, ROSIE software, Wisconsin Immunization Registry, Wisconsin Forward Health Portal, DocuSign, Cornerstone, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, Webex
Ability to maintain accurate and complete records
Ability to efficiently schedule participants
Produces statistical tables, forms, labels and reports as requested by WIC Team
Provides computer, clerical and reception services
Prepares and maintains client records and files
Ability to perform various WIC tasks on office computer; including texting WIC participants, running reports such as appointment/benefit/no-show reports to help in maintaining WIC participation and caseload
Prepare new client packets
Check screening equipment for accuracy and assure items are stocked nightly
Perform quality control and calibration on WIC screening tools including but not limited to Hemocue, stadiometer, scales (adult and baby), pronto machine
Maintains appointment schedules and related paperwork
Responsible for cleaning exam room between screening clients and ensuring workspace is kept clean
Demonstrate a positive attitude, time management skills and respect on a daily basis.
Other duties may be required and assigned, by WIC Director; including responding to an emergency event.
Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions Graduation from High School.
