The Rehab Aide supports acute care patients by assisting with transfers, transport, and direct care under therapist supervision. They are also responsible for cleaning treatment areas, managing equipment inventory, and performing light clerical duties.
Candidates must possess Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross. A high school diploma or equivalent and an interest in healthcare are preferred.
We are seeking a core rehab aide to support acute care patient needs at M Health Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina!
This role is a great opportunity to learn more about rehabilitation services and assist all disciplines within rehabilitation services. The rehab aide will assist with patient care, under the direction of a therapist, issue equipment to patients, clean equipment and Rehab spaces, complete light clerical tasks, and assist with patient transport to/from Rehab gyms. This may include setting up and assisting with direct patient care, patient transport (and monitoring patients during these activities). The rehab aide is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and inventorying of equipment and durable medical equipment for patient use and communicating with vendors regarding equipment inventories. The aide will maintain and clean all department treatment areas. In addition, the rehab aide will assist with orientation of new staff, and orientation and training of volunteers.
As an academic health system with residency and fellowship programs and a rehab-focused clinical quality team, we have a collaborative culture that is centered on learning with an emphasis on evidence based, patient-centered care. Rehab’s continuing education program offers 40+ continuing education courses per year at no cost to employees and further supports numerous external CE courses each year!
Fairview Rehabilitation offers a broad range of services that serve patients across 10 acute-care hospitals, 3 post-acute settings and 70 outpatient adult and pediatric therapy clinics. Consisting of Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy as well as Audiology and Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab, our therapists collaborate with colleagues in all medical settings and offer dozens of specialty programs.
