Provide professional nursing and psychiatric care to juveniles within a detention facility, including evaluating health needs and administering medications. Monitor patient conditions, maintain medical records, and supervise auxiliary nursing personnel to ensure a safe environment.
Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a current Michigan Registered Nurse license and BLS/CPR certification. Preferred experience includes one year of full-time work in medical/surgical, corrections, or behavioral health within the last five years.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Registered Nurse 1 give professional nursing care and treatment in the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Facility. Registered Nurses evaluate health needs of juveniles and refer, as indicated by policy and procedure, to the appropriate health provider, demonstrate knowledge in advanced first aid and emergency care, and have knowledge in all policies and procedures pertaining to Medical and Psychiatric treatment of juveniles detained in the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Facility. Registered Nurses monitor and maintain the medical and mental health treatment of juveniles, maintain supplies and equipment and ensure the juveniles are in a clean and safe environment and perform other related duties as assigned. General assignments are received from Charge Nurse or Nursing Administrator. Registered Nurses may supervise the work of Licensed Practical Nurses or other auxiliary nursing service personnel.
