The Protective Security Officer is responsible for protecting federal property and employees from theft, damage, and interference. Key duties include controlling facility access, conducting foot patrols, and responding to various emergencies and security incidents.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens at least 21 years old with two years of security guard experience or a DD214 equivalent. Applicants must meet all applicable federal, state, and municipal licensing requirements for security officers.
The Protective Security Officer will protect federal property and employees from theft, damage, hazards, or interference. They will make periodic tours to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment. They will preserve order and enforce regulations pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
Essential Functions:
Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable federal, state, county, and municipal licensing requirement for Security Officers.
Must be able to speak, read, and write using coherent English language.
Must be 21 years old
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Have two years of security guard experience or DD214 equivalent
May be exposed to stressful situations, such as challenging individuals who are in or approaching an unauthorized area.
Stand or walk constantly on various surfaces
Climb stairs, ramps, ladders, occasionally during shift. Occasionally bend/twist at waist/knees/neck to perform various duties. Frequent moving or lifting of heavy objects
