The First Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of high-quality main meals according to budget and standards. Duties include managing kitchen equipment, assisting with menu planning, and maintaining strict sanitation and food safety protocols.
Candidates must have at least 3 years of hospitality experience, including 1 year as a Sous Chef, and hold a FoodSafe Level I certification. Proficiency in various kitchen areas and the ability to pass a mandatory WHMIS test and drug/alcohol screening are required.

WHAT’S THE JOB?
Based in a world class Horizon North camp facility, the regular shift for this position is 20 days on and 10 days off, with 10 - 12 hour workdays. Transportation is provided to site from a pickup point in Edmonton.
The First Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking all main meals as per requirements; and ensuring all meals are prepared and served on time to the highest standards of Horizon North.
This position is safety sensitive and requires drug, alcohol and fit to work testing as a condition of employment.
