Full job description
Product Manager – Chip Making (Metalworking)
Location: Remote
Brands: JET • Baileigh | Reports to: Director, Product Management – Metal
At JPW Industries, we don’t just build products – we build careers.
Own the future of metal chip-making for two iconic brands.
Mills. Lathes. Saws. Drilling. CNC machining centers. The machines that make metal happen. At JPW Industries, we are looking for a Product Manager to take the wheel of our entire Chip-Making portfolio under the JET and Baileigh brands and decide where it goes next. This is not a maintenance seat. It is a builder’s seat: you will set the roadmap, launch the products, and own the results.
With industry-shaping brands like Jet, Powermatic, Wilton, Edwards, Baileigh and Axiom, JPW is redefining excellence in industrial tools and machinery for professionals worldwide. Chip-making, and CNC in particular, is where the market is heading, and this role sits at the center of that growth. If you know metalworking, love building products people brag about, and want your fingerprints on a category, keep reading.
What You Will Own
As Product Manager – Chip Making, you own the full lifecycle and P&L story of the portfolio: strategy, roadmap, launches, pricing, and performance. You will partner shoulder-to-shoulder with Engineering, Marketing, Channel, and the Metalworking Sales Directors to turn end-user insight into products that win in the market.
The 3–5-year Chip-Making product roadmap, with a strong emphasis on CNC machinery.
New product development end to end — from Voice-of-Customer insight and competitive analysis to a profitable, design-driven launch.
Category performance: pricing, margins, forecasting, promotions, and portfolio decisions (expand, evolve, or retire).
The market narrative: competitive positioning, line reviews, and the sales tools that make reps and dealers dangerous.
Your First Year: What Success Looks Like
You know the portfolio, the margins, and the competition cold — and you’ve built a point of view on where to attack.
You’ve published a refreshed 3–5-year roadmap the business is aligned behind.
You’ve moved at least one meaningful product or program from concept toward launch.
Sales, dealers, and end-users see you as the go-to voice for JET and Baileigh chip-making equipment.
How You’ll Spend Your Time
Build the Roadmap
Lead cross-functional teams to translate end-user, application, and distribution needs into products that exceed expectations.
Drive market research and Voice-of-Customer work; turn competitive and cost analysis into smart, profitable bets.
Own the Category
Set strategy, pricing, and financial targets by product line; monitor sales and margins and act on what the numbers tell you.
Make the tough portfolio calls — what to grow, what to launch, what to sunset and support the annual budgeting process.
Fuel the Field
Arm Marketing and Sales with messaging, copy, technical content, and launch materials that sell.
Get in front of customers — visit end-users, key dealers, and accounts, and represent JPW at tradeshows.
Lead line reviews and competitive analysis; respond to special quotes and enable reps, dealers, and customer service.
What You Will Bring: Expertise. Knowledge. Drive.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial product management.
Technical Acumen: Hands-on CNC machinery experience and a real feel for the product, the market, and what end-users need and want.
Product Instinct: A track record across the full arc of product launches — program development through in-market sales.
Drive: Self-directed, business-hungry, and eager to grow the category and yourself.
Range: Comfortable juggling multiple projects with strong written and verbal communication.
Tools: Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word for reporting and product research; SAP experience is a plus.
Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-moving, evolving environment and takes on new responsibilities as the business grows.
Travel: Willing to travel to customers, dealers, and tradeshows as the business requires.
How You Will Show Up: Our “We Are One” Values
Success at JPW is measured by more than results, it is grounded in how we work. In this role you will bring to life our “We Are One” core values:
Accountability — We Keep Score & Play to Win: Take personal ownership of your portfolio’s outcomes and deliver on both short- and long-term results. Earn trust by consistently following through on what you say you will do.
Problem Solving & Innovation — We Believe in Innovation: Pursue out-of-the-box ideas, big and small, to solve customer and business challenges. Approach problems analytically, identify root causes, and drive solutions with urgency and continuous improvement.

Decision Making — We Think Customer First: Make timely, well-reasoned decisions with the end-user and customer at the forefront, prioritizing excellence and accountability even under ambiguity or incomplete information.
Agility & Resilience — We Keep Score & Play to Win: Pivot quickly as market conditions and business priorities evolve. Maintain focus and composure under pressure and drive to get better every day.
Collaboration & Inclusion — We Win as a Team: Believe in the power of collective ideas and diverse perspectives. Build strong cross-functional relationships and create an environment where everyone can contribute and succeed.
