Position Summary:
The Global Inventory Strategy & Operations Analyst supports global inventory strategy, supply chain visibility, and operational decision-making across a global operating footprint. This role uses data, reporting, and cross-functional coordination to improve inventory performance, service levels, supply reliability, and customer satisfaction.
The analyst partners with Design, Sales, Quality, Customer Service, Supply Chain, suppliers, and customers to evaluate inventory risks, monitor supply chain activity, identify service issues, and recommend actions that support informed business decisions. The role requires strong analytical capability, clear communication, and disciplined follow-through in a fast-paced international operations environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Monitor on-hand, in-transit, aging, excess, and slow-moving inventory by SKU; recommend actions to improve turns, reduce obsolescence, and support service goals
- Analyze inventory trends, demand signals, supply risks, and customer requirements to support inventory planning and business decisions
- Extract, analyze, and summarize data from ERP, planning, and reporting systems to deliver actionable insights and clear recommendations
- Support inventory optimization strategies through reporting, SKU analysis, replenishment review, close-out recommendations, and exception management
- Monitor production status, work in process, and shipment visibility to identify supply risks and communicate potential service impacts
- Partner with Commercial and cross-functional teams to align forecasts, stock orders, inventory levels, and customer requirements
- Coordinate input from Design, Sales, Quality, Customer Service, Supply Chain, suppliers, and customers to support special requests and new product development
- Investigate and resolve order discrepancies, pricing issues, billing questions, and service concerns promptly and accurately
- Support operations with capacity planning, material planning, order sequencing, and constraint communication to protect service and cost
- Organize and lead supplier and customer meetings, including agendas, materials, notes, action tracking, and timely follow-up
- Maintain and improve SOPs, process maps, calendars, and standard work to support consistent execution
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams, global partners, customers, and suppliers
- Communicate professionally and proactively with customers and internal stakeholders through clear written and verbal updates
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the overall function of the role
Role Qualifications/Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred
- 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in operations, supply chain, customer operations, or planning
- Strong ability to organize, analyze, interpret, and present data clearly
- Experience with inventory reporting, demand support, SKU analysis, and operational performance tracking
- Familiarity with international logistics, export documentation, and customs processes
- Strong written and verbal communication; adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Collaborative, detail oriented, and solutions driven with a continuous improvement mindset
- Advanced Excel skills, strong proficiency in Word and PowerPoint
- Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence platforms and a solid understanding of large datasets is preferred
- Experience with ERP and AS400 or similar systems is a plus
Education Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred
- Equivalent technical education or relevant business experience will be considered
