The Senior Surveyor conducts routine inspections on ships and offshore installations to ensure compliance with classification and statutory requirements. They also coordinate surveying work, provide technical guidance to the team, and maintain high standards of quality and ethical conduct.
Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree in Naval Engineering and possess at least 3 years of experience as a surveyor or 6 years in engineering/inspection with an IACS member. Proficiency in English and a strong understanding of maritime rules, regulations, and ship engineering systems are required.
RINA is currently recruiting for a Barcelona Marine Surveyor to join its office in Barcelona within the Mediterranean and Africa Marine Division.
The Senior Surveyor serves as an experienced and knowledgeable professional within the organization, applying expertise in maritime Rules, Regulations, and industry principles.The Senior Surveyor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement of surveying processes.
1. Professional Specialist:
- Acts as a professional specialist, applying in-depth knowledge of Rules, Regulations, and industry concepts.
- Keeps abreast of new developments and recommends changes to surveying processes and safety programs.
2. Inspection and Reporting:
- Conducts routine surveys on classed ships, offshore installations, or marine assets to ensure compliance with classification and statutory requirements.
- Prepares technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys.
3. Leadership and Coordination:
- Plans, schedules, and coordinates various phases of surveying work.
- Monitors the quality of service, providing guidance to less experienced surveyors.
4. Client Interaction:
- Engages with clients to solve problems within the area of expertise.
- Ensures client satisfaction through effective communication and resolution of issues.
5. Training and Development:
- Provides guidance, and training to less experienced surveyors.
- Contributes to the development and improvement of the skills and knowledge of the surveying team.
6. Quality Assurance:

8. Ethical Conduct:
