Job Description:
This recruitment will be used to fill multiple part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Student Outreach Assistant positions for the College of Education at Oregon State University (OSU). These positions represent the College of Education at various university and recruitment events that support the college. They also work with college faculty and staff to create and provide student engagement and community building opportunities.
This position provides This position supports several advising, outreach, and student success activities that contribute to student retention, engagement, and belonging.
The Undergraduate Student Support Services Worker performs a variety of work related to the support and enhancement of the quality of student life at the university.
Position Duties:
Support student recruitment efforts by engaging with prospective students and promoting College of Education programs.
Provide peer advising and guidance to current and prospective education students, including support during orientation and course registration.
Plan and coordinate student success events that foster community, belonging, academic achievement, and preparation for teacher education programs.
Serve as a peer mentor and tutor by helping students prepare for subject exams, student teaching, and academic success.
Assist with mentoring programs and student engagement initiatives, including training, event coordination, and program support.
Collaborate with faculty and staff on student success projects, presentations, outreach activities, and recruitment events.
Provide front-office and customer service support, including responding to inquiries via email, phone, live chat, and in-person reception. General office work or other projects as assigned.

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term
Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered “full-time” by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by theOffice of International Services(OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

College ambassadors must be enrolled in one of the following College of Education programs:
BA/BS in Pre-Education or Education student (major code 232 or 233)

BS in Pre-Teaching or Teaching (major code 056 or 057)
BA/BS in Pre-Elementary Education or Elementary Education (major code A038 or A037)
Additional Required qualifications:

Working Conditions/Schedule:
Typical office and campus environment with in-person work and occasional remote work as needed. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Actual work hours will be determined by the supervisor based on scheduling needs.
