About the Role
Are you highly organised, analytical, and confident working with senior stakeholders? Do you enjoy managing data, supporting workforce planning, and ensuring recruitment processes run efficiently? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Resource Manager to join our Resource & Capability Development team.
As an Assistant Resource Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day resource management activities across the business. You will be responsible for maintaining workforce data, supporting recruitment and resourcing processes, monitoring headcount, and providing valuable insights to help inform workforce planning decisions.
Working closely with senior leaders, HR teams, and Resource Managers, you will ensure that resource information is accurate, recruitment activity is effectively coordinated, and workforce plans align with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Support workforce planning and resource forecasting activities.
Support and maintain SmartCore, our resourcing tool, for relevant business areas to forecast demand for the short, medium and longer term.
Maintain accurate staff allocation records, and headcount data.
Manage local headcount control (approval) processes
Coordinate recruitment processes for permanent and temporary hires.
Manage contract extension approval processes and resource requests.
Produce and analyse workforce reports using Excel.
Monitor resource utilisation, workforce trends, and key performance metrics.
Deliver accurate data and reporting to senior stakeholders and management teams.
Support competency records, compliance requirements, and organisational structure updates.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business to support resource management activities.
About You
We are looking for someone who can combine strong analytical skills with excellent stakeholder management capabilities.
You will ideally have:
Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, reporting, data analysis, and data management.
Experience working with large datasets with exceptional attention to detail.
Strong administrative and organisational skills.
Experience supporting recruitment, workforce planning, or resource management activities.
Confidence engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders.
Experience chairing or coordinating meetings and managing follow-up actions.
The ability to interpret complex data and present clear insights.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
