Full job description
Let's talk about HOYTS
Working at HOYTS means being part of the team that keeps the magic of the movies alive. Our Cinema Crew play a hands-on role in creating memorable experiences for every guest, and our kitchen team is no exception. Behind every great LUX experience is a team passionate about preparing quality food that complements an unforgettable movie night.
Within HOYTS, HOYTS LUX is our premium dine-in cinema experience. As a member of our LUX Kitchen Crew, you'll play a key role in delivering the premium dining experience our guests expect, where quality, consistency and attention to detail matter every day.
The Job
HOYTS are looking for LUX Kitchen Crew Members who are passionate about preparing great food and delivering exceptional quality in a fast-paced environment. This is a permanent part-time role within our Cinema Operations Team.
On any given day, you could be:
Preparing and cooking meals from our premium LUX menu
Plating dishes to a consistently high standard
Maintaining food quality, presentation and portion consistency
Following food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures
Working collaboratively with the LUX team to ensure meals are delivered promptly
Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and ready for service
Assisting with stock rotation, preparation and general kitchen duties
Helping create a premium dining experience that exceeds guest expectations
Who We're Looking For

At HOYTS, we value team members who are:
Passionate about food
You take pride in preparing quality meals and understand that every dish contributes to an exceptional guest experience.
Eager to learn and grow
You're excited to develop new culinary skills, learn new recipes and build confidence in a professional kitchen environment.
A supportive teammate
You enjoy working alongside others, communicating effectively and helping your team succeed during busy services.
Calm under pressure
Busy movie sessions can mean busy kitchens. You stay organised, work efficiently and maintain quality, even during peak periods.
Detail-oriented
You understand that consistency, cleanliness and presentation are just as important as speed.
Availability & Reliability
We're seeking team members who can commit to a flexible roster, particularly during weekends, evenings, public holidays and school holidays. Regular availability during these peak periods is essential. Please be ready to share your availability when applying.
Why HOYTS?
At HOYTS, we're passionate about creating unforgettable experiences that bring people together. Our teams are at the heart of making that happen, and every role contributes to creating memorable moments for our guests.
As part of the HOYTS LUX Kitchen Team, you'll help deliver a premium dining experience unlike any other cinema in Australia. It's an opportunity to work in a modern, hospitality-focused environment where quality food, teamwork and exceptional guest experiences go hand in hand.
The HOYTS Group is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. All hiring decisions are based on merit, qualifications and business needs.
When you join HOYTS, you'll benefit from:
Working in a premium hospitality environment where quality and teamwork are valued
Exciting perks including discounted movie tickets, food and beverage offers, and exclusive Crew events
Developing valuable culinary, hospitality and customer service skills that can take you anywhere
Ongoing opportunities to learn, grow and advance your career in a fast-paced entertainment industry
Permanent part-time employment with guaranteed minimum hours and paid leave entitlements
Crew Members are employed on a permanent part-time basis, giving you the opportunity to build long-lasting connections while enjoying greater job security. A standard shift is generally a minimum of four hours, and you'll be rostered for at least eight hours per week. Your agreed part-time hours will always be scheduled within your stated availability, and rosters are released each Friday in Australia for the week commencing the following Thursday.
