Job Description
Role Overview
We’re intersted in speaking with experienced Project Architects, operating at Senior Associate level about upcoming roles in our Brisbane studio.
You’ll partner closely with the Design Team Leader to manage program, scope, deliverables, and resources across a large, multidisciplinary design team.
As a talented Senior Project Architect you play a central role in supporting complex project delivery, bringing deep technical knowledge, strong design judgement and the confidence to work constructively with contractors Reporting to studio and project leadership, you'll help uphold design intent through scheme design, detailed design, construction documentation and, where required, into construction phase services. This is a senior, hands-on role where you'll apply extensive experience in technical detailing, building systems and project delivery to resolve challenges, guide smaller teams and contribute to high-quality built outcomes on major projects. You'll work closely with design leaders, consultants and contractor-side stakeholders to assess buildability, respond to proposed changes, and develop smart, practical technical solutions that protect the architectural vision while recognising program and construction realities. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to significant, large-scale projects, bringing a rare combination of technical rigour, delivery experience and design sensibility to moments where those qualities matter most. We're looking for someone who can confidently operate in complex delivery settings, communicate clearly with experienced stakeholders, produce and review robust technical packages, and bring the professional credibility needed to influence outcomes in fast-moving project environments.
Qualifications
What you will bring:
Extensive professional architectural delivery experience with a strong track record contributing to and leading work on complex, large-scale projects, demonstrating the maturity and confidence to take ownership of critical technical and design-resolution deliverables
Proven experience in leading small project teams – demonstrated ability to guide and mentor architects or technicians, coordinate consultant and internal inputs, and bring technical, design and delivery information together into coherent, high-quality outcomes
Advanced technical detailing and documentation capability – deep expertise in how buildings are put together, with the ability to develop, review and communicate robust technical solutions that support both design integrity and construction feasibility
Strong design judgement alongside technical rigour – ability to assess proposed changes not only for compliance or constructability, but for their impact on architectural quality, user experience and the overall design outcome
Experience delivering major health, Urban Transport and Civil infrastructure projects.
Strong commercial acumen and ability to manage scope, budgets, and contractual obligations
Demonstrated success in program management, ECI, and Design & Construct delivery models
Skilled in identifying risks, managing scope changes, and communicating effectively with stakeholders
Experienced in coordinating consultant teams, contractor interfaces, and regulatory requirements
Capable of balancing design integrity with commercial and program efficiency
Self-driven and proactive working style – comfortable taking a brief, interrogating technical issues independently, developing options and returning with clear, well-considered recommendations that keep projects moving under tight timeframes
Contractor- and stakeholder-facing capability – experience engaging confidently with contractors, consultants and delivery partners, listening carefully, challenging assumptions where needed, and negotiating solutions that balance design, time and construction realities
High-quality project delivery mindset – commitment to excellence, clarity and rigour in documentation, detailing and coordination, with pride in producing work that stands up in demanding delivery environments
Resilience and adaptability – a steady, professional presence who can work across evolving project scopes, shifting delivery conditions and complex stakeholder settings, while remaining focused on practical problem-solving and design advocacy
