Basic Function
HF Sinclair is seeking a Renewable Feedstock Trader in Dallas, TX. This role is responsible for supporting feedstock procurement, trading execution, logistics coordination, and risk management activities for HF Sinclair’s renewable diesel operations. The position assists with physical feedstock purchases, market analysis, pricing administration, hedge coordination, and supply chain execution for renewable feedstocks including soybean oil, used cooking oil, distillers corn oil, animal fats, and other materials. The role utilizes industry knowledge, analytical skills, and commercial awareness to support renewable feedstock supply and trading activities.
Job Duties
Assists with the overall execution, and is responsible for acquiring a portion of, renewable feedstock purchases, including spot and term transactions.
Monitors feedstock market conditions, basis relationships, spreads, and pricing trends to adjust, when appropriate, feedstock inventory positions or buying strategies
Coordinates pricing events including flat price and basis pricing execution
Maintains internal position tracking and hedge reporting tools
Supports hedge execution and reconciliation activities to ensure alignment between physical and financial positions
Develops strategies and then coordinates feedstock logistics movements via truck and rail into multiple renewable diesel facilities
Interfaces with suppliers, carriers, plant personnel, and internal commercial teams regarding shipments and scheduling
Drafts and manages trade confirmations and related commercial documentation
Tracks contract performance and assists with resolution of invoicing or operational discrepancies
Assists in development of daily and weekly market summaries and commercial analysis
Supports development and improvement of internal commercial and position tracking tools
Researches market conditions and communicates commercial impacts to management
Supports compliance with commercial, operational, and safety procedures
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
Experience
A minimum of five years of related experience in commodities, energy, agriculture, logistics, supply chain, or related commercial activities is required.
Preferred Experience
Experience in renewable fuels, biofuels, agricultural commodities, physical trading, logistics coordination, or risk management activities is preferred.
Education Level
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in business, finance, economics, agriculture, supply chain, energy commerce, or related field is preferred.
Required Skills
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced commercial environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies and determine appropriate corrective actions. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with advanced Excel skills preferred. Understanding of commodity markets, basis pricing, futures markets, and hedging concepts preferred.

Work Conditions
Office based with occasional travel by land and air required. Subject to varying weather and road conditions. Occasional visits to refinery or industrial operating environments may be required.
