The Preschool Teacher implements a developmentally appropriate curriculum to promote the social, emotional, and physical growth of children. They are responsible for classroom management, supervising assistants, and maintaining positive relationships with parents.
Candidates must meet DEEC, NAEYC, and QRIS qualifications and be at least 18 years old. Certification in CPR, First Aid, and Child Abuse Prevention is required, with a preference for an associate degree and proficiency in ASL.
Description
Under the supervision of the Supervising Lead Teacher, the Preschool Teacher at Boroughs Family Branch, provides direction for the classroom and implements curriculum which promotes social, cultural, educational, physical and emotional growth. Provides a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
Job Type: Full-time (Non-Exempt)
Schedule: 40 hours weekly position. Monday-Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm
Pay: $20.50-$25.13/hr (based on education and experience) with a full benefit package to include, generous PTO, access to facilities, Medical, Dental, Disability, Life, Vision, & Pet Insurance, and ability to participate 403B Retirement Savings Plan. Also, once fully vested, the YMCA will pay into a retirement account for you!
New hires for EEC teaching positions at the Boroughs Family Branch will get a $2,000 bonus which, $500 will be paid immediately upon hire, $500 upon completion of a 90-day review, and $1,000.00 at the 180-day mark.
