The lifeguard maintains safe swimming conditions by performing active surveillance of the pool area and responding immediately to emergencies. They are also responsible for conducting chemical testing, equipment checks, and maintaining accurate safety records.
Candidates must be at least 15 years old and hold certifications in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and Basic First Aid. The role requires the ability to maintain physical and mental readiness and adhere to YMCA safety standards.
