Position Type:Part-timeThis is NOT a temporary or summer-only position.
Pay Range starts at $15 per hour(or more depending on the childcare experience listed in the application or resume)
School Location-Community:KIRKWOOD ELEMENTARY (209) Montgomery County
Shift: Must be available Monday through Friday,Before School Care (6:30am to 8:30am)
Are you passionate about working with kids and making a difference in their lives? Join the YMCA of Middle Tennessee as a 2026-2027 SAS Site Assistant, Mornings - Kirkwood Elementary School and be part of a team that helps children grow socially, physically, spiritually, and mentally in a fun, safe, and engaging environment!
What You’ll Do:
Actively lead and engage a group of 15–20 children in activities, inside and outside.
Set up and transform program spaces into child-friendly environments and ensure cleanliness.
Help plan and implement a quality curriculum aligned with YMCA guidelines.
Build positive relationships with YMCA staff, school personnel, and families.
Ensure site licensing and quality standards are maintained.
What We’re Looking For:
Minimum Age: 18
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Enthusiastic, organized, and team-oriented individuals with a passion for youth development.
Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills with the ability to multitask.
This role is best for someone who enjoys staying active with kids. The essential functions of this position include the ability to see and hear children clearly, move quickly to ensure their safety, lift up to 40 lbs, and comfortably spend time standing, bending, and being outdoors in changing weather.
Availability Requirements:
Must be available Monday through Friday
Must be able to commit to ongoing employment during the 2026–2027 school year
This position is not suitable for individuals seeking summer‑only employment
Certifications Required:
Before your first shift: Orientation, DHS Background Check, Fingerprinting, Abuse Registry Check, health forms, training sessions, and references.
Within 30 days of hire: CPR/First Aid/AED (Infant/Pediatric).
