The lifeguard is responsible for maintaining a safe swimming environment by monitoring the pool area, testing water quality, and responding to emergencies. They must also document incidents, perform regular sanitation of equipment, and uphold YMCA safety policies.
Candidates must be at least 16 years old and hold or obtain CPR, First Aid, and YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard certifications. The role requires the ability to perform physical rescues and a commitment to the YMCA's mission and mandated reporting procedures.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Lifeguard position creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while promoting and maintaining a safe swimming environment in the pool, deck and surrounding areas in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
