Job Description
Grace is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join our Operations team! This role reports to the Quality Manager and is at our Tyrone, PA manufacturing facility.
All employees at Grace have environmental, health and safety (EHS) roles and responsibilities and are accountable for achieving compliance with our EHS Policy. The QC Technician will be required to work a rotating shift schedule, and work overtime and holidays as production demands dictate. Employee must successfully complete all applicable assessments and plant training requirements.
The QC Technician exists to analyze raw materials and plant samples on a timely basis and report those results to production. This position also occasionally performs equipment maintenance on analytical instruments.
The successful candidate will have good analytical chemistry and math skills and some mechanical aptitude for instrument repair.
Responsibilities
Perform analytical tests to determine quality, purity etc.
Analyze data obtained form testing and document according to standard policy and procedures.
May troubleshoot existing or potential problems with equipment, chemicals and processes or notify the proper person.
Dispose of waste (chemicals and solids) produced in the lab according to policy and procedures and legal regulations.
Adhere to all plant policies and rules on safety, fire protection, good housekeeping, operating practices and personal conduct. Ensure that all equipment is operated safety and that work areas and equipment are kept clean and orderly.
Physical Requirements and Environment
Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in science related field
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Experience working a rotating shfit schedule
Experience with basic lab equipment, such as autotitration instrumentation and gas and liquid chromatography systems.
