Role Overview
As a Facilities Specialist I, you are responsible for supporting day-to-day maintenance, repair, and facilities operations across all credit union locations. You contribute to ensuring that facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained, supporting both employee productivity and a positive member experience.
Working under the direction of the Assistant Facilities Manager, you perform assigned tasks and routine maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures, priorities, and service expectations. This role focuses on execution of defined work, requiring attention to detail, reliability, and responsiveness to facilities-related needs.
You play an important role in maintaining service levels by completing work orders, supporting site needs, and assisting with general upkeep, while developing foundational knowledge of facilities operations, tools, and processes.
Key Areas of Contribution
Work Order Execution & Maintenance Support
Complete assigned work orders related to maintenance, repairs, and facility support activities.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, adjustments, and general upkeep.
Follow established procedures and guidance when addressing facility issues.
Ensure work orders are completed accurately and within expected timeframes.
Facilities Upkeep & Daily Operations
Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and functionality of facilities and common areas.
Support routine inspections to identify basic maintenance needs or safety concerns.
Assist with furniture moves, office setups, and workspace adjustments as assigned.
Respond to day-to-day facility requests in a timely and service-oriented manner.
Vendor & Site Support
Assist with vendor access, including escorting and preparation of work areas for scheduled services.
Support on-site coordination activities as directed by leadership.
Report vendor-related concerns or issues to the Assistant Facilities Manager.
Help ensure work areas are properly secured and cleaned following vendor services.
Safety & Compliance Awareness
Follow all safety protocols, procedures, and workplace guidelines.
Identify and report potential safety hazards or facility concerns to leadership.
Support compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
Participate in required safety training and facility-related programs.
Team Support & Collaboration
Work collaboratively with Facilities team members to complete assigned tasks.
Communicate work status, updates, and issues to leadership in a timely manner.
Maintain a responsive and service-oriented approach to requests and assignments.
Support team priorities and assist with additional tasks as needed.
Learning & Skill Development
Build foundational knowledge of building systems, maintenance tools, and facilities processes.
Learn work order systems, service expectations, and operational procedures.
Apply feedback and direction to improve performance and efficiency.
Progress toward increased independence in completing assigned tasks over time.
QualificationsQualifications & Skills
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: 0–2 years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or related field (preferred but not required).
Technical Skills: Basic familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment (preferred); basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and general office applications (required)
Knowledge: Foundational understanding of general maintenance and facility upkeep (preferred).
Soft Skills: Good communication and organizational skills; ability to follow direction and complete assigned work (required).
Attributes: Reliable, detail-oriented, and service-focused; strong work ethic; willingness to learn; collaborative team player committed to supporting team operations.
Expectations & Work Environment
Decision-Making Authority: Works under direct supervision and follows established procedures and direction. Escalates issues, uncertainties, or non-routine situations to leadership for guidance and resolution.
Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks for extended periods. Frequent movement between locations and lifting up to 50 pounds required.
