Washington County Community Corrections is now hiring for a highly collaborative and supportive individual to join our team as a Probation and Parole Officer (PPO). An essential function of this role will be supporting a caseload of people from various backgrounds.

Education and Experience:
Probation and Parole Officer I
Bachelor’s degree in any concentration, AND Three (3) years of experience in corrections, criminal justice, counseling, social work, or a related field. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in corrections, criminal justice, counseling, social work, or a related field may substitute for two (2) years of required work experience. OR
Associate’s degree in any concentration, AND Four (4) years of experience in corrections, criminal justice, counseling, social work, or a related field. Possession of an Associate's degree in corrections, criminal justice, counseling, social work, or a related field may substitute for one (1) year of required work experience. OR
High School Diploma or equivalent, AND Five (5) years of experience in corrections, criminal justice, counseling, social work, or a related field.
Probation and Parole Officer II
Bachelor’s degree in any concentration, AND Three (3) years of experience in corrections, criminal justice, counseling, social work, or a related field; OR
Associate’s degree in any concentration, AND Four (4) years of experience in corrections, criminal justice, counseling, social work, or a related field; OR
High School Diploma or equivalent, AND Five (5) years of experience in corrections, criminal justice, counseling, social work, or a related field.
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in corrections, criminal justice, counseling, social work, or a related field may substitute for two (2) years of required work experience.
Additional Requirements
Must pass a comprehensive background investigation.
Must possess a driver’s license valid in the State of Oregon and have an acceptable driving record.
Must acquire and maintain CPR and first aid certification.
Must meet all certification requirements as a Probation and Parole Officer by the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) within 18 months of hire (for Probation and Parole Officer I)
Must be certified as a Probation and Parole Officer by the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) upon hire (For Probation and Parole Officer II).
Must be a US citizen, or become a US citizen within 18 months of hire.
Must be able to pass a post-offer physical abilities assessment, psychological assessment, and the DPSST pre-employment medical exam prior to appointment.
