Position Summary: 

The Sales Engineer, provides primarily pre-sales technical support for the design, development, and implementation of Vecima’s access architecture solutions, including R-PHY, R-MACPHY, vCMTS and PON-based solutions. In addition to supporting all DAA technology a Sales Engineer will provide pre-sales technical support for Vecima’s node product line. This role works closely with sales teams and customers to translate technical and business requirements into effective, scalable network solutions.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Leverage deep product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales teams and customers through presentations and product demonstrations at Vecima facilities and customer sites, including lab and field environments
• Partner with sales staff to assess customer requirements and identify appropriate applications of Vecima products to meet customer needs
• Develop and contribute to detailed product, design, and implementation specifications for customer solutions, incorporating customer and partner input
• Provide consultative technical services, including product capability assessments and validation, to support customers transitioning from existing solutions to Vecima products
• Design and assemble hardware and software configurations to demonstrate solution feasibility, including rapid prototyping and customer demonstrations
• Serve as a technical subject matter resource in PON technologies (G-PON, XGS-PON, E-PON), DOCSIS technologies (vCMTS, R-PHY, R-MACPHY), and Node products including the EN9000(GAP Node).
• Support customer trials, evaluations, and proof-of-concept activities, including participation in lab and field testing
• Maintain and grow technical expertise to effectively support current and future product offerings

Qualifications

Education: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Experience: 

• Minimum 5+ years of experience working for an equipment manufacturer or service provider in access technologies
• Demonstrated experience in HFC and analog RF domains, virtualization technologies, IP networking, routing/switching, and PON and DOCSIS technologies (iCMTS, R-PHY, R-MACPHY)

Skills & Competencies: 

• Highly accountable self-starter with strong organizational and analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical solutions in support of sales objectives
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility and rapport with customers, partners, and internal teams
• Advanced understanding of DOCSIS and PON technologies
• Commitment to continuously maintaining and expanding technical skills relevant to the role
• Ability to work independently to develop solutions that meet customer requirements
• Proven relationship-building skills with customers, partners, and third-party vendors
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex technical challenges creatively
• Flexibility in working hours, willingness to travel (primarily North America, up to 50%), and ability to work productively in a remote environment

Working Conditions: 

• Remote, travel required.
