Purpose:
TheStudentCopywriter Associatein University Housing and Dining (UHD)position offershands-on experience across multipleadvertising,marketingand communication functions, helping you grow into a well-rounded professional.You’llbe part of a highly collaborative, creative teamwithhigh standardsfor timeliness,engagementand quality deliverables.This position will provide support andassistancethrough a variety of written mediums while enhancing writing skills, teamwork, interpersonal communication and understanding of a large organization.
Responsibilities:
Copywriting Support
Providewrittensupport for marketing needs including but not limited towritingwebsite contentwith visual assets,print and digital advertising,social media,creating surveys, short- and long-form articles, event handouts and more.
Research how to effectively adapt written content forvarious target audiences, SEO, emailmarketingand other digital channels.Assistin strategizing and implementing findings, ensuring alignment with brand and department goals.
Proofreading and Editing
Learn andmaintainbrand standards (UHD and University), tone,styleand grammar for various marketing channels.Help team members proofread and edit variousadvertising,marketing and communications materials using brand standards and consistent tone,styleand grammar.
Concepting and Crafting Written Content
Assistthe marketing and communications team by brainstorming ideas for engaging residents, pitching newstoriesand thinking of other ways toshare impactful written content.
Craft written content for different purposes and channels, includingadvertising,storytelling, newsletters, campaigns, digitalplatforms and more by applying the overall marketing strategy -determinedby the marketing and communications team with yourassistance.
Team Collaboration
Gain experience working with the marketing and communications team, both in largegroup and one-on-one settings.
Work collaboratively with the marketing, creative and communications teams through the creative lifecycle of projects and campaigns to bring ideas to life.
Required Qualifications:
Enrolled in courses at the Moody College of Communication
PreferredQualifications:
Junior or senior status and/or must have completed at least one full academic year at an institute of higher learning (first year students are not eligible, regardless of earned credits or classification)
Strong writing skills
AP Style
Previousexperienceinadvertising,marketingor another related field preferred
Compensation:
$13.75 per hour
