Position Overview
The Principal Product Manager, Advanced Mechanical Products partners with Product Engineering to define product strategy and lead the development of advanced mechanical systems supporting Fleet's data center infrastructure. This role owns product roadmaps and new product development from concept through production, ensuring products meet design intent while achieving cost, quality, scalability, and deployment objectives.
Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, and external manufacturing partners, this leader drives product strategy, supplier engagement, and industrialization for mission-critical mechanical systems including cooling, thermal management, and fluid handling solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Roadmap
Define product strategy, requirements, and roadmaps for advanced mechanical infrastructure products.
Translate business objectives, customer needs, and infrastructure strategy into prioritized product plans.
Balance performance, cost, manufacturability, reliability, scalability, and deployment requirements.
Product Development & Execution
Lead new product development from concept through validation, NPI, and production.
Drive stage-gate execution, program schedules, budgets, risks, and product launch activities.
Partner with engineering teams to transition prototypes into scalable manufacturing.
Supplier & Manufacturing Leadership
Manage relationships with OEMs, contract manufacturers, fabricators, and key suppliers.
Drive supplier performance across quality, cost, delivery, capacity, and production readiness.
Partner with suppliers on manufacturing strategies, value engineering, and design-to-cost initiatives.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Collaborate with Engineering, Construction, Commissioning, Procurement, Operations, Finance, and external partners to deliver successful product launches.
Serve as the primary product owner, aligning stakeholders on priorities, scope, risks, and execution.
Ensure products integrate seamlessly into design, construction, commissioning, and long-term operations.
Quality, Compliance & Supply Chain
Support product validation, testing, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous product improvement.
Partner with Supply Chain to manage sourcing strategies, production planning, inventory, and launch readiness.
Communication & Documentation
Communicate product strategy, priorities, risks, and status to technical teams and executive leadership.
Ensure product documentation, installation guides, commissioning procedures, and training materials support successful deployment.
Key Competencies:
Expertise in advanced mechanical systems, cooling technologies, thermal management, and mission-critical infrastructure.
Strong product management and new product development experience.
Manufacturing, supplier management, and product industrialization expertise.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
10+ years of product management, product development, or technical leadership experience.
5+ years supporting data center infrastructure, mission-critical facilities, or complex mechanical systems.
Proven experience delivering mechanical products from concept through production.
Experience with HVAC, cooling systems, thermal management, fluid distribution, or related technologies.
Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, CFD, or similar engineering tools.
Strong understanding of manufacturing, NPI, quality systems, and supplier management.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with liquid cooling, advanced thermal management, modular cooling systems, or high-density data center technologies.
Experience supporting hyperscale or global data center deployments.
Experience working with OEMs, contract manufacturers, and global supplier networks.
Master's degree in Engineering, MBA, or related advanced degree.
Additional Information:
