What are we looking for? We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in accounting principles and experience in supporting day-to-day financial operations. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial records and contributing to the overall financial health of the company.
What will you do?
Financial Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records, including the preparation and entry of journal entries, invoices, and receipts into the accounting system.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, addressing discrepancies promptly.
Prepare payment lists and ensure timely execution of payments.
Manage accounts receivable collections, ensuring accurate tracking and follow-up on outstanding invoices.
Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring all employee records and payments are accurate and up-to-date.
Handle tax filings, VAT returns, and other statutory financial obligations.
Support budget preparation, monitoring, and financial forecasting.
Administrative Responsibilities:
Organize and maintain financial and accounting documents, both physical and digital, ensuring easy access and retrieval.
Assist in the preparation of financial audits, providing necessary documentation and information to auditors.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely submission of financial data and assist with internal financial inquiries.
Monitor and manage petty cash transactions and ensure all expenditures are properly documented and authorized.
Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures within the company.
Assist in procurement processes, including reviewing and organizing purchase requests, vendor management, and ensuring alignment with budgetary guidelines.
Compliance Support Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures and assist in implementing new practices as required.
Monitor compliance with local and international financial regulations and standards.
Maintain accurate records for financial compliance and reporting purposes.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
Prior experience (3-5 years) as an Accountant or in a similar role is desirable.
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Pylon Business, Hyper Accounting) and financial reporting tools.
Skills:
Strong understanding of accounting principles and basic understanding of tax and financial regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite applications.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and Greek.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
