Position Summary

The Senior Loan Officer will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with current and prospective customers in Victoria and surrounding counties. The ideal candidate holds a wholistic view of banking with a deep understanding of banking principles and a commitment to providing personalized service beyond sales.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess and understand customers' financial needs in order to provide mutually beneficial solutions aligned with customer goals and FSB guidelines
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients in Victoria county and surrounding markets
  • Must understand basic cash-flow principles in order to understand if a good deal is a good deal beyond surface level conversations
  • Submits application to credit analysts or, when appropriate, examines application and creditworthiness of potential borrower; determines or makes recommendations regarding approval or denial/modification of requested loan within respective authority limits
  • Approves or, when outside pre-approved lending limits, refers loans to management for further analysis and approval
  • Remain informed of market trends, loan products, and regulatory changes to provide compliant and informed guidance to clients
  • Must become knowledgeable about other bank products to identify and refer cross-sell opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless loan process with an exceptional customer experience
  • Maintains a robust referral network in the local banking community with builders, real estate agents, and other related industries
  • Represent the bank at community and networking events to enhance visibility and brand recognition
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree from an accredited university preferred
  • 5+ years with education or 9+ years with requisite experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and sales skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
