Texas Mutual is deeply committed to creating and maintaining an environment of mutual respect and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply and will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, genetic information, veteran status, or any other basis protected by local, state, or federal law.

About this Position

At Texas Mutual, we are proud to create a stronger, safer Texas. That means helping injured workers return to a productive life, empowering businesses to excel, and giving back to our communities. As a Premium Audit Specialist, you will provide exceptional service to our valued policyholders. This service will achieve its goals through our analysis of financial records, our evaluation of operations, and our review of workers' compensation class codes. Additionally, you will conduct final audits to determine true exposure and premium earned.
This is a Texas-based position that will report to one of our regional offices in Austin, Dallas or Houston, based on the selected candidate's location. While the role offers the flexibility of primarily remote work, the selected candidate will be formally assigned to and supported by their designated regional office.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Conduct Professional Employer Organization final audits and other large complex accounts.

  • Apply the NCCI and Texas Basic Manual Rules, Classifications, and Rates for Workers' Compensation on TXM’s largest and most complex accounts.

  • Provide advanced premium audit expertise, technical assistance, and education to staff, management, policyholders, and agents.

  • Recommend, develop, and document premium audit procedures.

  • Notify Special Investigation Department of accounts that are suspected of fraudulent practices, including participating in premium fraud investigations, estimating premium losses, providing depositions, and expert testimony in litigation.

It is required that you:

  • Have a bachelor's degree or equivalent education, training, or experience.

  • Have at least four years of premium audit experience or equivalent education, training and experience.

  • Have extensive knowledge of underwriting principles, the TDI/NCCI basic manual of rules and Texas labor, and multistate workers' compensation auditing rules and regulations.

  • Can travel in state as needed to visit our policyholders.

It would be great if you also have:
CPCU or Associate in Premium Audit designation

This position does not include a company vehicle, internet stipend, or mobile phone stipend
