The Opportunity:
Symcor sits at the centre of some of the most consequential conversations in Canadian financial services—payments modernization, open banking, fraud prevention, and the digital transformation of how the country’s largest institutions serve their customers. Our story is rich. Our social presence is ready to match it.
We’re looking for a Social Media Marketing Lead to take Symcor’s social strategy from a strong foundation to a standout B2B voice. LinkedIn performs well today. What comes next is yours to shape. From executive thought leadership and employee advocacy to emerging channels, niche communities, Substack, X, podcasts, and new opportunities not yet on our radar, this role has the mandate to build.
This role is ideal for someone who understands that in B2B marketing, credibility matters. You know how to create content that earns attention, influences buying committees, supports business growth, and strengthens brand reputation. You care as much about outcomes as engagement metrics.
This is a hybrid role based in the Greater Toronto Area, with two days per week on site.(Maternity Leave Contract Position)
About The Role:
- Own and evolve Symcor’s organic and paid social media strategy as a core component of our digital marketing ecosystem.
- Translate business priorities into social programs that build awareness, engagement, executive visibility, thought leadership, and commercial impact.
- Develop and execute paid social campaigns that support strategic marketing and business development objectives.
- Create and manage compelling content that reflects Symcor’s brand, voice, expertise, and market position.
- Partner closely with executives to strengthen thought leadership, amplify perspectives, and increase visibility across key audiences.
- Evaluate, pilot, and scale beyond LinkedIn into the platforms where B2B financial services audiences are actually paying attention, including Substack, X, executive podcasts, niche communities, and emerging channels.
- Use social listening, audience insights, and market monitoring to identify conversations, trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Establish measurement frameworks, report on performance, and continuously optimize results across organic and paid programs.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Communications, Sales, Product, Legal, Compliance, and agency partners to deliver aligned and high-quality social initiatives.
What You Need to Succeed:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
Experience:
- 5+ years in social media marketing, with meaningful experience in B2B environments, ideally financial services, technology, or professional services.
- Experience managing both organic and paid social programs and connecting activity to measurable business outcomes.
- Strong understanding of how social media supports long sales cycles, complex buying committees, regulated industries, and executive reputation building.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and translating business priorities into audience-centric content and campaigns.
Skill Requirements:
- Strong editorial judgment, storytelling instinct, and command of B2B tone—you know what credibility sounds like.
- Confident with social management, publishing, listening, analytics, and reporting platforms.
- Comfortable in using AI tools to strengthen content creation, audience targeting, optimization, workflow efficiency, and reporting.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to balance long-term brand building and near-term business objectives.
- Data-driven decision maker who uses insights and experimentation to improve performance.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, collaboration, and project management skills.
- Curious builder mentality with a willingness to challenge assumptions, test new approaches, and continuously evolve the program.
