Summary
Join Baird Strategas as an Investment Research Analyst, where you will build foundational investment expertise while supporting the evaluation and monitoring of investment managers and strategies. You will partner closely with senior analysts and portfolio managers to research markets, analyze data, and contribute to insights that inform client portfolios. This position is designed for early-career professionals who are intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow within financial services.
The Impact You’ll Make:
Conduct research on investment managers, funds, and market trends to support due diligence efforts
Gather, organize, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data for investment evaluation
Assist in preparing research reports, investment summaries, and presentation materials
Update and maintain research databases, performance metrics, and tracking tools
Support senior team members in monitoring portfolio holdings and manager performance
Contribute to periodic reporting and commentary used by internal stakeholders and advisors
Perform industry and competitive analysis to identify emerging investment themes
Assist in coordinating due diligence activities such as calls, meetings, and documentation
Ensure accuracy and consistency of data used in investment decision-making
Collaborate with team members to improve research processes and workflows
What You’ll Bring to Baird:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
0–2 years of relevant experience (internship or full-time) in investment research, finance, or related field
Demonstrated interest in financial markets and investment strategies
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Ability to collect, organize, and interpret financial data
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with financial tools/databases preferred
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills and commitment to data accuracy
Collaborative mindset with willingness to learn and take direction
Progress toward or interest in pursuing CFA or other relevant designation preferred
Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) or basic modeling concepts is a plus.
Compensation and Total Rewards:
$75,000 base annual salary
Discretionary Bonus potential
