QUALIFICATIONS  

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of successful experience in marketing and communications, preferably within a non-profit organization

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 Manager Specific

  • Manages the day-to-day operations of marketing and communication activities, providing ongoing assessment and reporting campaign outcomes or deficiencies to the Executive Director.
  • Responsible for meeting all marketing outcomes as documented in their Employee Development Plan.
  • Takes an active role in the recruitment, hiring, development, and evaluation of assigned marketing team members, coordinators, or interns (when applicable).
  • In coordination with Human Resources, develops a plan for the orientation, development, and ongoing training of department staff.
  • Provides leadership, direct supervision, training, and support to assigned team members, volunteers, or interns, including regular one-to-one consultation and performance feedback.
  • Reviews and approves public-facing collateral and documentation prepared by department staff before publication.

Position Specific

  • Agency & Leadership Showcasing: Under the direction of the Executive Director, assist in researching, identifying, and coordinating logistics for strategic community opportunities—such as panel discussions, awards, and community forums—to showcase and position the agency, its leadership, and its staff.
  • Planned Giving Support: Provide tactical marketing, infrastructure, and communication support for the execution of the organization's planned giving initiatives, in conjunction with and under the direction of the Executive Director and CEO.
  • Campaign & Content Execution: Lead and coordinate creative campaigns for print projects, direct mail, advertising, e-newsletters, and web initiatives to increase agency visibility and support fundraising goals.
  • Brand Stewardship: Ensure the strict implementation of branding guidelines and messaging across the agency; critically review and update printed materials such as brochures, newsletters, and promotional products.
  • Digital Infrastructure: Manage online activities, including routine updates and maintenance to the website, execution of the monthly e-newsletter, and development of innovative data visualizations such as infographics.
  • Media Support: Assist the Executive Director in organizing media outreach, preparing talking points, drafting press releases, and responding quickly to media inquiries.
  • Metrics & Evaluation: Monitor, evaluate, and report on the results and impact of communication activities, identifying digital trends and community attitudes.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Coordinate with the Strategic Initiative Officer, Grants Manager, and Donor Relations team to ensure unified messaging and consistent communication with funders and community stakeholders.
  • Event Promotion & Engagement: Facilitate marketing communication to support and promote agency events, secure sponsorships in partnership with local business groups, and attend events as needed.

Agency Specific

  • Performs all duties in a manner consistent with the principles and values of agency, while adhering to applicable professional codes of ethics, the agency’s policies and procedures, contractor requirements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Model and communicate appropriate positive attitudes toward the agency’s Mission, Vision, and Values
  • Work collaboratively with all agency programs and staff to provide support as needed
  • Utilize and maintain calendar with all work-related details in order to manage time effectively and share calendar information with coworkers
  • Participate in on-going training to expand and develop professional skills
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the agency, as assigned

Employment at the Agency is terminable at-will, which means that employment may be
terminated at any time, without cause or reason, by either the employee or the Agency. In
addition the Agency may also demote, layoff, transfer or reassign employees at any time at its
sole discretion without cause or reason.

Compensation
The posted salary band represents the full pay range for this role and reflects opportunities for compensation growth over time. The typical hiring range reflects where we reasonably expect to make offers to new hires based on relevant experience, qualifications, and internal equity.

• Typical hiring range: $75,000  –  $89,500 per year
• Full salary band: $75,000  –  $100,000 per year

Compensation offers are made through our established compensation framework to promote fairness, consistency, and internal equity.
