Save the Children International seeks to always be a child safe organization through fulfilling its obligations to the community and through programme implementation carried out by the organization for safeguarding children and to improve the living standards of the child.
The Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) Project Assistant will support the implementation of various activities within the FSL program, which includes cash distribution aimed at improving food security and livelihoods for vulnerable populations. The Project Assistant will work closely with the FSL officer and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) teams to ensure that FSL activities, including cash assistance, are delivered effectively and efficiently to beneficiaries.
The Project Assistants will have a diverse range of responsibilities and will assist FSL officers with tasks such as community sensitization and mobilization, formation of community committees, beneficiary selection and registration processes, training, distribution, and monitoring of various components of the multipurpose cash assistance program. Specific tasks will be assigned by the FSL officer or program manager and will depend on individual skills and interests.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Community Mobilization
Participate in sensitizing the targeted beneficiaries, local authority, and key stakeholders in the FSL project activities, objectives, timeline, and beneficiary selection criteria.
Sensitize the targeted community on the use of response and feedback mechanisms and how to report any concerns.
Activity Implementation:
Support the FSL activities, including needs assessment, baseline survey, DDM/PDM, and village mapping.
Support the FSL officer in conducting the community mobilization, forming and training community development committees (CDCs), and beneficiary registration and verification.
Assist in the distribution of cash, ensuring that all necessary procedures are followed.
Verify the beneficiary's identity and ensure that cash is delivered to the correct individuals.
Archive the copies beneficiary fingerprint list and receipts.
Provide support to the targeted beneficiaries by answering questions and addressing concerns related to the FSL activities, including cash distribution.
Ensure that beneficiaries are lined up in orderly queues and the crowd is well managed in safe and efficient manners at the cash distribution site.
Communicate clearly with the targeted beneficiaries on the cash distribution process, timing, amount of cash entitled, and required document for receiving the cash.
Direct beneficiaries to the designated cash distribution committee.
Ensure beneficiaries have access to the complaints and response mechanisms.
Support the data entry of the project information.
Coordination:
Assist in coordination with financial service providers and other stakeholders (CDCs) to ensure smooth cash distribution.
Coordinate with the community development committees and targeted beneficiaries on the time and place of cash distribution.
Monitoring and Reporting:
Monitor cash distribution activities, identify any challenges or issues that may arise, and communicate them to the FSL Officer.
Prepare a report on cash distribution activities, including the number of beneficiaries reached, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
Collect and maintain data records on cash distribution and beneficiary information.
Embed counter-fraud and ethical controls in all operational processes, ensuring compliance with donor and legal requirements, while collaborating with Finance and Counter-Fraud teams to mitigate risks and conduct assessments for high-value programs
Qualification , Skills and Experience:
University degree in social science, economics, agriculture, geography, or another discipline relevant to food security and livelihoods.
Two years of experience working with international NGOs.
Two years of experience working in food security and livelihood activities in Taiz Governorate, specifically in Ash Shamayatyn district.
Good working experience in community mobilization activities and awareness raising.
Good attitude, hardworking, and able to take initiative and problem-solve independently.
Ability to verbally communicate with rural populations (in Arabic) and resolve conflicts.
Knowledge and experience of the areas of intervention context (Taiz), specifically Ash Shamayatayn district, and ability to relate with stakeholders.
Ability and willingness to travel extensively to the field, sometimes in difficult or insecure circumstances.
Computer skills to create and input into Word and Excel documents and navigate the internet and email.
Provide data entry support for any FSL-related assessments, including IPTT and IMPACT Analysis
Compile and enter beneficiary and project information into databases from regularly collected (handwritten) registration forms and lists of FSL programs; update and revise data when details change as well as follow-up information.
